Iceberg

ADHD Budgeting, Debt Snowballs, and Expense Planner

Iceberg is a minimalist approach to budgeting. One bucket for discretionary spending, everything else is a recurring bill, debt payments, or a one-time expense. Iceberg doesn't revolve around calendars. Life is a series of paychecks and expenses that don't land in a calendar cleanly. This app is meant to help project debt payoff timelines (with snowball or avalanche), plan one-time expenses, and present a bill calendar. No bank integration. We've all gotten 3 free months of ID protection by now.

This budget philosophy started in 2018. I'm paid bi-weekly, so budgeting apps were always a little buggy for me. I'm an SQL developer for a healthcare organization by day. I built out everything in SQL years ago, a CTE that generated my upcoming transactions line by line, given the bill/income characteristics stored in a table. Window statements informed me of my upcoming "minimum balance" needed to keep in my accounts to stay solvent. Extrapolated from there to find how much I could pay down my debts. Everyone I shared it with liked it, but I had no way to share it with them except via a SQLFiddle. So, here we are! Hoping people find it useful.
