I built HoverAI because I was tired of constantly switching between my work and a separate AI chat window just to translate, rewrite, explain, or summarize a piece of text.
With HoverAI, you can select text in almost any Mac app, press a global shortcut, and choose what you want AI to do. The result appears in a lightweight window, where you can copy it or replace the selected text directly.
HoverAI also includes a menu bar chat, editable local memory, customizable shortcuts, conversation history, and MCP support for connecting external tools.
The app runs natively on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. New users receive a 7-day free chat trial, while quick actions can be used up to 20 times per day without a subscription.
