Choose a model, trigger dictation from the keyboard, and speak through drafts, prompts, support replies, notes, and technical text without cloud transcription minutes or a subscription. Built for the moments where built-in dictation is too short, too rigid, or too much cleanup.
I built Horse Whisprer because I wanted Mac dictation that felt better for real writing, not just quick snippets.
Built-in dictation is convenient, but I kept running into the same problems: longer thoughts got messy, technical words needed cleanup, and cloud transcription tools turned dictation into a subscription or usage decision.
Horse Whisprer runs Whisper locally on your Mac. Pick a model, trigger dictation from the keyboard, speak naturally, and send the transcript back into the app you were already using.
It is built for:
- drafts and rough thinking
- support replies
- prompts
- docs and notes
- technical text with product names, commands, and jargon
I’d love feedback on two things:
1. Which Mac apps you most want dictation to work well in
2. Whether the model setup feels clear enough for non-technical users
Also, I know the name and icon are silly, but they made me laugh.
