If you are job hunting, this shows you which postings went up this week so you can apply while someone is still reading, and which ones have sat untouched for months so you can skip them.
A job posting does not tell you how old it is, and I could not find a job site that would tell me either. They buy listings second-hand from aggregators and never see the employer's own timestamp, so a role that has been open for two years looks exactly like one that went up this morning.
So HiringCensus reads over 10,000 employers' own hiring pages every morning and writes down what changed. Everything here falls out of that one habit:
- The employer's own publish date on over 400,000 roles, back to 2017. About a fifth of what is listed as open went up more than 90 days ago.
- A verdict on every board each morning: actively hiring, still open, gone quiet, or likely abandoned. About a thousand are advertising roles while having posted nothing new in six months.
- Boards with no backlog, where every open role went up in the last 30 days.
- How long roles actually stay open before being filled. Every morning the homepage picks two companies out of the data, both with hundreds of roles open, where one fills a role in days and the other takes years. The postings look identical.
- Most "remote" roles name a country. Fewer than a fifth are open from anywhere, and it says so before you apply.
Searching is free with no account and no card, on the web or the Android app, and every role links straight to the employer's own page — applications are never collected or brokered. A licence ($7/week, $19/month, or $29 once) lifts the 14-day window and the 10-per-list cap, and tells you the morning something opens.
What I cannot tell you is whether this gets anyone hired. What it measures is which postings are real and how old they are, and I would rather show that than promise the part I do not control.
The thing I most want picked apart: pick a company you have applied to and check what we say about their board against what you experienced.
