HGesture
Mouse gestures for Mac: hold right-click, draw, let go
System-wide mouse gestures for Mac users with a regular mouse. Hold the right button, draw a quick stroke and let go to snap, minimize or close windows, go back, switch tabs and more, in any app. Free, lightweight, no data collected.
I'm the developer of HGesture. I use a regular mouse with my Mac, and I got tired of aiming at the tiny window buttons and reaching for the keyboard for every shortcut. So I built HGesture: hold the right button, draw a quick stroke, let go.
Some of the default gestures:
↙ / ↘ Left / right half of the screen
↓ Minimize, ↑ Restore
↓→ Close window
← / → Back / Forward
It works system-wide, in any app's windows, not just the browser. A normal right click still opens the context menu.
What else it does:
50+ built-in actions: window layout, tabs, Mission Control, search or translate selected text, and more
Your own gestures: bind shortcuts, open apps or URLs, run shell commands or AppleScript
Different gestures for each app, and apps you can exclude
Circles, S and Z shapes, and diagonal strokes
A small native Swift menu bar app; nothing is collected or uploaded
It's free. An optional small reward unlocks "Learns from you": correct a misread gesture once and HGesture recognizes your way of drawing it.
One honest note: HGesture isn't notarized by Apple yet, so the first time you open it you'll need to click Open Anyway in System Settings → Privacy & Security. The install guide on the website shows each step.
Requires macOS 14 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel.
This is the first release, so I'd love your feedback: which gestures would you add, and which apps should it support better?
