Hi Makers and Hunters!
I love traveling when it's not just a sightseeing, but a deep dive into history and cultural context. Agree, your impression of a landmark, building or even an old stone changes a lot when you learn colorful facts about it or stories of related people. I wondered so many times about "what is this, who lived here and how", and couldn't find an immediate answer.
Of course, in many cases you can hire a local guide, go to web and read or even watch in YouTube, but all these ways have multiple constraints. And they don't work like "I want it right now!"
I thought it would be great at some moment just to have an app in your pocket, snap a photo and learn a story. And I was pretty amazed when GPT-4 has been released and I found that if you give it enough context, it is actually pretty good in historical storytelling and can tell stories comparable in quality to what you can get from an average local guide or audio guide.
Then we jumped on building and released Android and then iPhone versions. We did multiple iterations to make app more clear and reliable with stories more accurate, insightful and engaging.
