Hearthkin

One private app for everything your household shares

Hearthkin is a small, private app for one household. See who's home, keep one shared note and list, and never miss the dates that matter. No ads, no trackers, no feed.

Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm Serhii, an iOS developer. Hearthkin started as two things at once: I wanted to find out whether I could ship a real app on my own, end to end — and I wanted something genuinely useful for my own family while I did it. No dramatic origin story. I just kept looking at what exists for households and finding it was either a tracking app built for keeping tabs on teenagers, or a general-purpose tool where the family stuff drowns in everything else. A household doesn't need a feed, a social graph, or a location history. It needs about five things, always visible. So Hearthkin opens to who's home. Under that sits a shared note, the family list, the dates nobody wants to be the one to forget, and your HomeKit status in a line. Cards speak up when something's new and step aside when they're empty. There's a Home Screen widget so most days you never open the app at all. On privacy: presence is home-or-away only — no trail, no history. No third-party analytics or ad SDKs. HomeKit data is handled on-device by Apple and never reaches my servers. The design goal was to feel like it came with the phone. Everything is native SwiftUI on iOS 26, and I spent an embarrassing amount of time on things nobody will consciously notice. Free, iPhone, iOS 26. I'd love to hear what your household currently duct-tapes together for this — group chat, shared notes, a whiteboard on the fridge? And what's the one thing you'd want on that first screen?
