heade.rs

See where any website lives and how your traffic gets there

Every domain lookup site looks like it's from 2004. So I built the one I wanted: https://heade.rs Type in any website and see where it's hosted, the route your traffic takes to get there, what it's built with, who registered it, and which AI bots it lets in. Fast, beautiful, free, no sign-up, and works from a terminal or MCP.

Hi Product Hunt, I'm Colin. By day I run Paragraph. heade.rs is a side project that started as a quick way to check a site's response headers (hence the name) and turned into the page I wanted every time I got curious about a website. Type in a domain or IP address and you get: • Where it's hosted, down to the cloud region • The route your traffic takes to get there, traced live from your browser and drawn on a map • How fast it answers from where you are • Who registered it, and when it expires • What it's built with, and whether those versions are out of date or have known vulnerabilities • Whether its email is protected from spoofing (SPF, DMARC, MTA-STS) • Which AI crawlers it lets in, and whether it offers llms.txt, Markdown or an MCP server • DNS, certificate and security headers It's free, with no sign-up. For developers it also works from a terminal (curl heade.rs/yoursite.com), as a JSON API, and as an MCP server for AI agents. Try it on your own site first. I'd love to hear what surprised you, and what you'd like it to check next.
