Hey Product Hunt, so I'm Jacob and I've been building Hawser on my own for the last few months. What got me started is my schedule changes every single day, some days I work ten hours straight and some days I play a video game for ten hours, and both are fine by me, but every focus app I tried treated those two days exactly the same and would lock me out on the day I actually needed to work.
So that's the problem I wanted to solve, a blocker can't tell ten hours of real work from ten hours of YouTube. Hawser looks at what's actually on your screen and only speaks up when you've wandered off the thing you said you'd do, and when it does it's a little nudge to come back, it won't lock you out of anything unless you set that up yourself.
It changed quite a bit along the way. It started as one mission a day, which turned out to be a little clumsy, so now your day is a list of tasks and Hawser keeps you on the one at the top. The part I'm honestly most excited about is new this month, you can connect your own Claude app and ask it to plan your week, and nothing changes until you hit Confirm.
A couple of honest things. It's Windows only right now and Mac is on the roadmap, the installer isn't code signed yet so Windows will show a SmartScreen warning, and when Hawser does look at your screen the screenshot is never saved, not on your machine and not by me.
