Hi Product Hunt - I'm Artem, and I built HaulPilot.
An oversize/overweight truck move is only legal inside the intersection of about seven things: the permit window, the travel window, escorts, the route, hours of service, weather, parking. Forty-nine jurisdictions each write their own rules. Today the driver or the dispatcher is the integration layer, running that intersection on phone calls and state PDFs. Nobody computes it.
HaulPilot computes the legality part. You enter the load and two cities; it returns which states need permits and escorts, the travel windows, the stops the law forces, and the fees. Every verdict carries the document, section, quoted text, effective date and verification tier it came from, so a dispatcher can hand it to a permit officer. When a fee can't be priced or a threshold doesn't exist, the plan names the gap instead of summing quietly.
What it is not, said plainly:
- It doesn't file permits and it doesn't navigate. Every plan is a proposal; the issued permit is the final word.
- No language model decides legality. LLMs here only read documents and draft text; the answers come from a deterministic rules engine over primary-source law.
- The corpus is analyst-verified against primary documents; no datum carries a licensed consultant's signature yet. That is the next gate, and the plan says so.
- Distances come from a public Interstate graph, so mileage shows as an upper bound, and some city pairs refuse rather than guess.
