Handover

The app blocker where quitting early costs your streak

Handover blocks the apps you choose: hard blocks, daily minute budgets, timed sessions, or unlocks you earn by walking, breathing, meditating, or scanning a barcode at home. The twist: there is always a way out, but it costs part of your streak, and the price is shown before you pay it. No lockouts you cannot escape, just a deliberate cost. Free for a full week with every rule type on. No ads, no analytics, no tracking, account optional. Built by one person in Australia.

Top comment

Hi Product Hunt, I built Handover because every blocker I tried was either easy to dismiss or scary to trust. The idea: blocks you can always escape, but escaping has a price you can see, part of the streak you have been building. Turns out losing a 12-day streak hurts more than any nag screen. The hard part was Apple's Screen Time API, which gives you opaque tokens you cannot read and extensions that cannot talk to your app; happy to answer anything about that pain. Everything is free for the first week, would love your honest take on the streak-cost idea.
