Neighborhood Task Marketplace
TaskRabbit for the countries TaskRabbit skipped
HandIt is a local marketplace for everyday jobs: moving furniture, cleaning, dog walking, fixing a faucet. You post, a neighbour applies, you pay by card. Stripe holds the money until you scan the QR code. You can also rent out the drill you never use.

Hey Product Hunt. I'm Tofan, from Bucharest, and I built all of this myself. TaskRabbit runs in the US, Canada, the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Monaco. It does not run in Romania, or in most of Eastern Europe. So here this work happens in Facebook groups. Someone posts "need help moving a fridge on Saturday", half the group comments, you pick one, you agree on cash, and then you both just hope. Sometimes the helper shows up and the money never does. Sometimes it goes the other way. We have a word for it: țeapă. HandIt is that Facebook group, rebuilt so nobody can pull it. You post a task, a neighbour nearby applies, you pay by card. Stripe authorises the payment and holds it. When the job is finished you scan the helper's QR code, the charge is captured, and Stripe Connect sends the money to their own bank account. No platform wallet, no chasing anyone for a payout. There is a second half: borrowing. A drill, a ladder, a tent, a pressure washer. Things people buy once and use once. Same escrow, plus a deposit hold. Being straight with you about where this is: the payment rails are live and real, but the marketplace is not busy yet. I am seeding the first genuine tasks in Bucharest now. Also unfinished: the mobile app has no test suite, web push is deferred rather than instant, and every dispute still ends at me reading it. No funding, no team. Ask me anything, including the boring payment plumbing.
