Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I'm the maker behind Handarin, an indie app from a small Spanish studio (it's the sibling of Kotomaji, our Japanese app).
I built Handarin because every "China travel" resource I found was either a full language course (streaks, subscriptions. I didn't want to *study*, I wanted to *travel*) or a translator that needs a VPN to work behind the Great Firewall. Neither helps you when you're standing in a Beijing metro tunnel with no signal.
So Handarin is deliberately small and offline-first: 149 real phrases with native male/female audio, pinyin and Simplified/Traditional hanzi, 59 verified China travel tips (WeChat Pay, Alipay, DiDi, tea-house scams…), and a currency converter. 14 interface languages and unusually, almost all the content is translated to Spanish too, which the English-only competition ignores.
