Habit of the Day

Build habits, not streaks

Habit of the Day is different because it’s consistency‑first, not streak‑first. It replaces streaks with a Consistency Score + Grace Days, so missing a day doesn’t reset your progress or trigger guilt. It has a rotating habit discovery feed and structured “habit ideas” pages, so you don’t have to invent habits yourself. It encourages one meaningful habit per day, with Tiny Habit mode and wellbeing check‑ins (mood, sleep, stress, energy) so the focus is on how habits feel.

I built Habit of the Day because every habit app I tried left me feeling more guilty than better. I’d miss one day, my streak would reset, and I’d quietly give up. I wanted something that reflected real life – where consistency over time matters more than perfection. The problem I’m trying to solve is simple: most people don’t struggle with *tracking* habits, they struggle with knowing which habits to start and staying consistent when life gets busy. So instead of another dashboard full of streaks, Habit of the Day focuses on one meaningful habit at a time, a Consistency Score instead of streaks, and built‑in Grace Days so missing a day isn’t treated like failure. My approach has evolved a lot while building this. I started with a basic habit tracker, but user feedback and research pushed me towards three things: better habit discovery, a calmer experience, and more flexibility. That’s how I ended up with a rotating, personalised habit feed (based on your preferences and what’s popular), Tiny Habit versions for tough days, and wellbeing check‑ins so you can see how your habits actually affect your mood, energy, sleep, and stress. I’m still iterating, and I’d love honest feedback on what works and what doesn’t.
