You type your dilemma, answer 7 questions under a ticking timer, and get a recommendation grounded in your own inputs, not someone else's opinion. The timer forces instinct over analysis. By the time it runs out, you've already revealed what you actually want. Gut Check just reflects it back clearly. No frameworks. No journaling. No decision matrices. Just a fast, honest answer from the one person who actually knows: you.
I built GutCheck because I kept watching myself overthink decisions I had already made emotionally. I'd spend an hour debating something trivial, only to end up exactly where my gut started.
The original idea was simple: a timer that forces you to commit before your brain can spiral. But the approach evolved a lot. Early versions had way too many steps. The insight that changed everything was realizing the questions aren't the product. The timer is. When you're racing a countdown, you stop performing deliberation and start revealing what you actually want.
The AI at the end isn't telling you anything new. It's reflecting your own inputs back as a clear recommendation. That's what makes it feel right: it came from you.
