Gullband
Your Library, Cataloged & Valued
Most book apps rely on manual entry. Gullband uses AI-powered shelf scanning to turn photos of book spines into a searchable digital library in minutes. Beyond cataloguing, Gullband adds estimated valuations, collector badges, public/private shelves, collector discovery, messaging, and marketplace functionality — combining AI cataloguing, community, and collecting into one mobile-first experience.

What inspired Gullband was a very simple realization: most people who love books have absolutely no idea what’s actually on their shelves. Books get forgotten, bought twice, boxed away, loaned out, or quietly become valuable without anyone noticing. Existing cataloguing tools felt clunky, manual, and built for librarians rather than real collectors. We wanted to make the process effortless. Take a few photos of your shelves, let AI identify the books, organize them, estimate value, and turn a physical collection into something searchable and alive. The product evolved a lot while building. We started thinking it was just a cataloguing tool, but we quickly realized people were emotionally attached to their collections. That changed everything. Gullband became less about inventory and more about collector identity, discovery, gamification, and community. At its core, Gullband is trying to solve a surprisingly modern problem: people own meaningful physical things, but have no digital layer connecting them together.
