I made GuessWhat? 猜-猜 because I wanted a party guessing game that celebrates the visual beauty of Chinese characters.

For this app, I wanted the cards to feel closer to Chinese brush calligraphy: expressive, traditional, and beautiful as words themselves. The game is still simple: pick a deck, hold up the phone, and let friends give clues or act things out. But the feeling I wanted was more like playing with Chinese language and character art, not just translating an existing party game format.
I’m curious how people think about word games: can the typography and cultural style become part of the gameplay feeling, not just decoration?
