Hi Product Hunt. I'm Vinny, and I built GSD because my to-do list had stopped helping. Everything sat in one flat column, and the loud tasks kept beating the important ones.
GSD makes the Eisenhower Matrix the home screen instead of a buried report. Every task lands in one of four boxes: Do First, Schedule, Delegate, or Eliminate. When priorities shift, you drag the card. The goal is not to do more. It is to see clearly what deserves your week.
Privacy is the architecture, not a setting. Tasks live in your browser's IndexedDB on the web and in a local database on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. There is no account, no tracker, and no paid tier. Sync is optional: sign in with Google, GitHub, or Apple, and a PocketBase backend keeps your devices current. You can self-host that backend with the Docker stack in the repo. The web app and MCP server are MIT-licensed, and the native app's source is public too, so the privacy claims are checkable in the code.
For the tinkerers: the MCP server lets Claude, or any MCP client, list, search, create, and complete tasks. Writes run as a dry run first, so you approve before anything changes. Setup is one command: npx gsd-mcp-server --setup.
What's next: Android is in the works. I would love to hear which quadrant fills up first for you, and what the matrix gets wrong. I will be here all day answering questions.
