Hey Product Hunt 👋 The World Cup kicks off this week, which felt like the right moment to ship this. Group of Death is a free daily puzzle about World Cup history. Every day, everyone gets the same real group from a past tournament (1930 to 2022): you see the year, the host and the four teams in a shuffled order, and you predict the final table. Green for an exact placement, yellow for one spot off, red for further. Then part two: the sides that qualified played on, so you call win or lose on the rest of their tournament, one match at a time. Some things I'm proud of: 🏆 All 111 four-team groups in World Cup history, with standings exactly as recorded, including the playoffs, drawn lots (twice!) and the 2018 fair-play tie-break 📖 Every puzzle ends with a story from the archive: Hungary winning 10-1 and still going out, Ireland reaching a quarter-final via a literal drawing of lots, Japan advancing on yellow cards 🔒 No account, no cookies, no personal data. Streaks live on your device, and the share grid never spoils the answer It's free and runs anywhere with a browser. I'd genuinely love feedback.
