Griple, Inc.
Full Contact Chat
Remember Microsoft Comic Chat? We shipped a modern version. Griple is group chat where your avatar acts out what you type. Start typing "I can't believe that call" and your avatar's face and body change to match. Type an action and it performs it. Animations, expressions, and the chat bubble itself changes shape and color depending on what you sent — the bubble is part of the sentence, not a container for it. All of it runs on your phone.
Two things collided. Give someone a character that's theirs and they'll pour identity, pride, and trash talk into it. And we never stopped thinking about Microsoft's Comic Chat from 1996, where your messages played out as a comic strip. It proved people would let a character speak for them — the tech just couldn't do it well yet.
The honest personal version: we like ragging on our friends, and text is a terrible instrument for it. A good taunt deserves a face and a body, not a gray bubble.
Text chat is lossy. In person, most of what you're saying isn't the words. It's your face, your body, your delivery. Text deletes all of that, and every patch we've invented for it — emoji, GIFs, adding "lol" so nobody thinks you're serious. Sarcasm misfires, jokes need insurance, and the funniest person you know sounds exactly like everyone else. We're putting the delivery back into typing, without making you do any extra work.

Who hunted Griple, Inc.?
Griple, Inc. was hunted by Gabriel Pessah. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
