GrimGolf

Trading cards and a clubhouse site for your golf trip

Every golf app counts your points. None of them remember the year someone three-putted from four feet and never lived it down. Grim Golf builds your group its own clubhouse site: player trading cards with animated pack openings, tournament recaps, stableford stats, team pages and a decade of grudges kept properly. The archive is free forever, however far back you go. A trip pass covers the live stuff. Concierge builds start at £300 if you want us to make it for you.

Hi all, Jim here. A while ago I built a private site for my own golf trip. It started as a scoreboard and then quietly turned into something else: player trading cards, animated pack openings when the squad got announced, recaps of every round, a running record of who has won what since we started. The scoring part got used for a weekend. The rest of it got used all year. People would sit at work looking up what happened in 2019 and arguing about it. That is the gap. Golf Genius, HowDidiDo and Golf Gamebook all count your points properly and I have no complaints about any of them. But none of them care that your mate has now lost a ball on the same first tee three years running, and that is genuinely the best thing about a golf trip. So GrimGolf is the other half. Your group gets its own site with player cards, packs, team pages, recaps and every trip you have ever played. The archive is free and permanent, because a group filling in seven years of history is the whole point and charging for it would be daft. You only pay for a trip while it is actually running. Two things I would love input on. First, if you play in a group like this, what is the one bit of history you would want on the site before anything else? Second, does the darker tone land, or does it need to be warmer?

Who hunted GrimGolf?

GrimGolf was hunted by James Mohamed. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
