Turn Safari black & white and browse with less distraction
Grayscale is a Safari extension that turns the web black & white so you can browse with less visual stimulation. It works on Mac, iPhone, and iPad. Unlike full blockers, it keeps the web usable while making distracting feeds, thumbnails, and colorful interfaces feel calmer. You can enable grayscale globally, then whitelist the sites where color still matters. Built for people who want a lighter, more intentional browsing setup without changing their entire workflow.
Hi :)
I built Grayscale for Safari because I wanted a calmer way to use the web without fully blocking everything.
A lot of distraction comes from visual stimulation: colorful feeds, thumbnails, buttons, badges, and interfaces designed to keep pulling attention. Grayscale makes Safari feel quieter by turning the web black and white.
You can enable grayscale globally, then whitelist the sites where color still matters.
It’s simple, minimalist, lightweight, and made for people who want a more intentional browsing setup without changing their entire workflow.
I’d love to hear what you think, especially if you use digital minimalism tools or struggle with distracting websites.
