Gravity

The expense tracker that never sees your expenses

Every expense tracker wants your bank login before it draws a chart. Gravity has no account and no server — everything stays on your phone; the only network call fetches exchange rates. What's different: one number each morning (what's safe to spend today, after bills), logging from Siri and widget buttons, UPI screenshots read on-device, and bill splitting where friends never need the app — the card goes to WhatsApp with your UPI ID. Free, no ads, no upsell. iPhone now, Android next.

Hi Product Hunt — I'm Sumith, and I built Gravity from Hyderabad.

I stopped using every expense tracker I tried for the same two reasons: they wanted my bank login before they'd draw me a chart, and they made me type everything. Gravity is my answer to both.

It never asks for your bank. There's no account and no server — everything you record lives on your phone, and the only network request the app ever makes is for currency rates. I wanted a money app I'd be comfortable handing to my parents.

And it tries hard to make logging not feel like work:
• Siri logs a spend hands-free
• The widget has one-tap buttons for the places you keep paying — "Chai ₹40", done
• Bill reminders have "Mark paid" right on the notification
• Share a UPI payment screenshot to Gravity and it reads the amount and merchant on-device (Apple's Vision framework — nothing is uploaded) and offers a one-tap save

The thing people use most is the number on the home screen: income, minus what you've spent, minus bills still due, divided by the days left. What's safe to spend today.

0.2.0 went live this week with bill splitting and groups. Enter the bill, tick who was there, and a card with everyone's share goes to your WhatsApp group — with your UPI ID at the bottom. Your friends don't need the app. That constraint mattered to me: nobody should have to install anything to pay you back.

Honest limits: iPhone only for now, India-first (₹ default, UPI, EMIs), and it can't sync between devices — that's the price of holding nothing. Android, with automatic capture from bank SMS, is next.

Free, no ads, no upsell. What I'd genuinely like to know: what would make you trust a money app that can't see your money?

Who hunted Gravity?

Gravity was hunted by Sumith T. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
