NotebookLM just added a really useful feature called "Discover Sources." Instead of manually searching the web and uploading all your source material, you can now find relevant web pages directly inside your notebook.
The workflow is quite simple:
Hit the "Discover" button in the Sources panel.
Describe the topic you're interested in learning about.
NotebookLM uses AI (Gemini) to search, analyze hundreds of pages, and recommend up to 10 relevant sources. Crucially, it provides a summary explaining why each source is relevant to your topic.
Add the sources you like to your notebook with a single click.
It's a much faster way to kickstart a new project or get essential background reading. They also included a fun "I'm Feeling Curious" button that suggests sources on a random topic – a neat way to see the feature work.
This is rolling out now to all NotebookLM users.
