This all started with 47 rejection emails.
I was job hunting for 14 months. I had the experience, I had the skills — but my resume kept getting rejected within 24 hours. Sometimes within the same day.
I knew I wasn't a bad candidate. But I had no idea why I kept getting filtered out.
So I did what any frustrated developer would do — I built a tool to figure it out.
I wrote a script that compared my resume against a job description and showed me exactly what was missing. Which keywords I wasn't using. Which bullet points were weak. What needed to be rephrased.
It worked for me. I stopped getting instant rejections. Eventually, I landed a role.
After I got hired, friends started asking to try it. Then strangers. So I turned it into a proper tool: GoatOpt.
Here's the honest truth: I'm not a recruiter. I'm a developer who got tired of being ignored by machines. GoatOpt is my attempt to help other job seekers understand what the ATS is actually looking for — and give them a clear path to fix their resume.
