The inspiration behind Assets Web Downloader came from my own experience as a web developer. I wanted to recreate a website with a similar look and feel, but I found it difficult and time-consuming to locate and identify the assets I needed using browser DevTools. That experience inspired me to build Assets Web Downloader, an open-source browser extension that makes it easier to discover and download website assets such as images, sprite sheets, fonts, and audio. What started as a personal solution to a problem I faced during development has grown into a tool I hope will help other developers save time and make website analysis easier.

Who hunted GitHub?

GitHub was hunted by renzi febriandika. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
