Chrome Extension
Extract text from any image on the web — instantly
Ever seen text trapped inside an image and wished you could just copy it? SnapText lets you right-click any image on any webpage and extract the text instantly — no screenshots, no app switching, no uploads. Everything runs locally via Tesseract.js. Your images never leave your device. macOS has Live Text. Windows had nothing. SnapText fills that gap.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I'm Veenuthan, a 20-year-old developer apprentice from Switzerland.
I built SnapText because I kept running into the same frustration — seeing text inside an image on a webpage and having no easy way to copy it. macOS users have had Live Text for years. As a Windows user, I had nothing.
So I built it myself.
Everything runs 100% locally in your browser — no servers, no accounts, no data collection. Just right-click any image and get the text out instantly.
Would love to hear your feedback — this is my first Chrome Extension and I'm always looking to improve it!
