GitAscii
The Canva for READMEs, with the best community components.
Your GitHub doesn’t have to look like everyone else’s. GitAscii is a visual README editor, like Canva for GitHub, where you can build your profile your way. It’s also a hub for community made components, bringing together popular widgets and projects so you can add them to your README with just one click. Templates, animations, widgets, and more, all in one place. Open source, made by developers, for developers.
GitHub READMEs have always been a great way to personalize your profile, but I wanted to make the process more visual and easier to explore.
That’s what inspired me to build GitAscii: a Canva like editor that makes creating and editing READMEs more intuitive, combined with a hub of community made components where you can easily discover trending widgets and projects to add to your GitHub.
What started as a visual editor evolved into a place where you can both create your README and discover what’s trending in the community. I’m excited to keep building it and see what people create with it.

Who hunted GitAscii?
GitAscii was hunted by Igor Braz. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
