gigs.monster

Concerts near you + the setlist they're playing this tour

gigs.monster is a map of upcoming concerts worldwide. Pick a city, see who's playing this weekend, and hear the actual setlist from their current tour as a Spotify playlist before you buy a ticket. Travelling for a show? Every event page has a map of nearby places to stay. Built solo by a frontend dev who was tired of missing shows.

Hey Product Hunt, I'm Shantanu, a frontend engineer in Tallinn. I built gigs.monster because every time I visited a new city I'd find out about a great show the day after it happened. The existing apps either want your whole Spotify library first, or they're just a ticket search box. So this is the version I wanted: - A full-screen dark map. Zoom into any city and see every upcoming show as a pin. Filter to "this weekend". - Artist pages that show the tour dates and the setlist they're actually playing on this tour, averaged from recent shows, as a Spotify playlist you can press play on. Listen on the way to the venue, or use it to decide whether the ticket is worth it. - Ticket links straight to the seller and a hotel map for shows out of town. Under the hood it's Next.js, Ticketmaster's Discovery API for event data, setlist data for the tour playlists, and a couple of tricks to build YouTube playlists without burning API quota (happy to go into that in the comments). It's early. Coverage is strongest in the US, UK and the bigger European cities, and I'm adding artists by hand so they always have real upcoming dates rather than a dead catalogue. If your city or a band you follow is missing, tell me here and I'll add it, most within 24 hours. Two things I'd love your opinion on: 1. Is the setlist playlist actually useful before a show, or is it a spoiler? 2. Would you use a "what's on this weekend" weekly email for your city, or is that noise? Thanks for looking, and if you go to a gig you found here, tell me which one.
