Giffington
A GIF maker that's actually good.
Videos or images in. GIFs out. A free, high-quality GIF converter that keeps transparency.
Top comment
I run Gut Feeling, a small creative agency, and we make a lot of GIFs for client emails, decks and social. Every free converter we tried gave us the same thing: crunchy colors, huge files, lost transparency, and a page buried in ads. So we built our own. Giffington does one job: videos or images in, GIFs out. Drop in a clip up to 15 seconds or up to 10 images, and you get back a crisp GIF with transparency kept. No account, no watermark. It started as an internal tool with more bells and whistles. The more we used it, the more we stripped away, until it was really just a drop box. The one thing we added back is a little wall that keeps the GIFs you make, saved in your own browser so you can grab them again later. (Also, hit the sound button. There's a song.) I'd love to hear what you'd use it for, and anything that comes out less than crisp. Thanks for checking it out!

Who hunted Giffington?
Giffington was hunted by Drew Gilbert. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
