Ghar Mitra
Keep every family document. Share only what you pick.
Ghar Mitra keeps your household's documents, vehicles and important dates in one private app. Pick one record or many, choose exactly what to include, and send them in seconds. Free on Android, in Gujarati and English.
Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm Hitesh, the maker of Ghar Mitra.
The problem. In most families, the important papers are scattered — Aadhaar and PAN scans in the gallery, a policy PDF in WhatsApp, the RC book in a drawer. It's fine until a school admission or a hospital admission asks for five documents at once, and then everyone loses an hour searching.
What Ghar Mitra does. It gives every person in the household — and every extended relative — their own profile, with their documents, dates and details under it. Vehicles get their own pages too, with the number plate, chassis/engine numbers and their insurance, PUC and RC. Anything about to expire rises to the top of the home screen.
The part I care about most: sharing. You can pick one record or a whole list, and the app asks what to include — files, details, dates, notes. Linked documents are never attached unless you tick them. Nothing goes out by accident.
Built for real households: Gujarati and English, Gujarati tithi for birthdays and anniversaries, big-text and copy on long-press for family members who aren't comfortable with small type, and a front-door lock screen opened with your fingerprint.
Private: documents live on your phone. Backups go to a folder you choose and can be locked with your own password. There's a trash so a mistaken delete isn't the end.
It's Android-only for now and free (it shows ads). I'd love to hear what feels missing — especially from anyone managing paperwork for parents or grandparents.
