GetYourFont
Turn photos of your notebook into your own handwriting font
Snap 5-10 photos of pages you've already written (journals, class notes, letters) or fill in a printable template. GetYourFont finds every letter, draws any missing ones in your style, and builds a font you can install and type with in Word, Canva, Cricut and more. Repeated letters rotate between your real variations, so it doesn't look stamped. Free to make and try in the browser, no signup. $9 once per font to download TTF/OTF.
Hi Product Hunt! I'm Ali, and I made GetYourFont.
Most handwriting-font tools I tried start the same way: print a grid, write every character in a tiny box, scan it back in. But most of us already have pages of our own writing in notebooks, journals and old letters, written naturally rather than carefully inside boxes. So I built GetYourFont to work from those pages.
How it works:
- Photograph 5-10 pages you've already written (or use the printable template if you prefer)
- It strips the ruled lines and grid, an AI model reads each line, and every letter it can cleanly separate goes into your font
- It keeps up to 3 versions of each letter and rotates between them, so double letters don't look stamped
- Characters it didn't find are drawn to match your pen width, slant and letter sizes
- You check every letter before paying: swap versions, edit or remove any, or flip "Smooth all letters" if your photos were shaky
Making and trying your font in the browser is free, with no account. If you like it, it's $9 once to download (TTF, OTF and an install-ready ZIP), no subscription. Photos are deleted as soon as the font is made.
Honest limits: printed, separate letters work best. Joined-up cursive doesn't work well yet (the template is the way around that), and it's Latin letters, digits and punctuation for now.
Launch offer: code EARLY50 takes 50% off at checkout for the first 30 people.
I'd love your feedback, especially if it misreads your writing. And I'm curious: what would you make with a font of your own handwriting?
