Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I built Gesture Synth because most digital music tools begin with a keyboard, MIDI controller, or complicated software setup. I wanted to explore a simpler idea: could opening a browser and moving your hands be enough to make music? Gesture Synth turns your webcam into a two-hand musical instrument: 🎹 Move your left hand to choose a chord root ✋ Use right-hand finger shapes to select the chord quality 🔊 Raise or lower your right hand to control volume 🎛️ Move horizontally to shape the tone 🎥 Record, replay, and download a 15-second performance Everything runs locally in the browser. Camera frames and recordings are not uploaded, and the instrument does not require an account, installation, or microphone access. This first release is optimized for current desktop versions of Chrome and Edge. I’d love your feedback, especially on the gesture controls, hand-tracking stability, and first-time experience. What would you try playing with it?
