We'd been shipping data.json/data.csv next to our data trackers for months without calling it an API. What was missing was a stable path and real CORS headers, so a browser fetch() from someone else's site wasn't blocked.
So the API is just the same static files, now under a proper /api/v1/ path, with CORS enabled. No auth, no rate limit, on purpose: the data changes once a day, it's static files on a CDN, not a service that can go down.
7 datasets today: AI coding leaderboard, its history, funding rounds, exploited CVEs, student software offers, crypto and memecoin prices. CC BY 4.0, use it commercially, just credit us and link back.
Would love to know what else people would want tracked as a free public dataset.
