Genesis is an AI-assisted framework for creating or reconstructing project systems. Hey Product Hunt — I’m the maker behind Genesis.
I didn’t actually start out trying to build an AI product. I was using AI across several very different real projects and kept running into the same problems: important context trapped inside chats, old proposals slowly turning into “decisions,” systems getting overengineered, and projects becoming increasingly difficult to hand off to another conversation or another person.
Genesis grew out of trying to solve those problems without making every project use the same template.
The idea is fairly simple: understand the project first, then build only the system it can justify.
Genesis works more like a project architect/compiler than a traditional project-management tool. You load the framework into a capable AI assistant, and it helps discover a new project or reconstruct an existing one before deciding what structure should exist.
That structure can look very different depending on the project. A small software product might eventually justify Git, documentation and a lightweight backlog. A freelance designer might need clients, briefs, revisions and approvals. A research or content project may care far more about sources, claims and versions. And an existing messy project can first be reconstructed before anyone starts reorganizing it.
There’s no dashboard and no one-size-fits-all workspace. Complexity has to earn its place.
This release is Genesis v0.1-alpha, with complete English and Spanish editions, currently available for $9.99.
What I’m trying to learn from this launch is whether Genesis still makes sense when I’m no longer the person using it. Can someone start without me? Does it stay appropriately small? Does it preserve enough project memory to survive individual AI chats? And what happens when it meets a project nothing like the ones that led me to build it?
So the feedback I’m most interested in is pretty simple: what confused you, what felt unnecessary, what was genuinely useful, and what broke?
A reproducible failure is probably more useful to me at this stage than praise.
