Gen Vault
The Ultimate Offline Password & TOTP Security Vault
GenVault is an offline-first password and TOTP vault by GenXis Innovations. Your credentials and 2FA secrets stay on your device — encrypted with AES-256-GCM, unlocked with your master password (plus biometrics when you choose). Built with Tauri 2, Rust, and Next.js for a fast desktop shell on Windows and a Material You experience on Android. No Cognito. No mandatory cloud sync. No server that can read your vault.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I’m from GenXis Innovations. GenVault started because I didn’t want my 2FA codes and passwords living in someone else’s cloud. I wanted something that works offline, encrypts everything on-device (AES-256-GCM + Argon2id), and still feels like a real product—not a hobby script.
The problem I kept hitting: most authenticators are either cloud-tied, or too thin once you also need passwords, recovery, and locking sensitive files on a Windows machine. GenVault is our take on that—an offline authentication vault with TOTP/HOTP, master-password unlock, Windows Hello, recovery codes, and (in v2) Folder Lock + File Lock so you can encrypt local folders and files from Explorer without a kernel driver.
Building it changed how we ship. We kept the crypto boring and strict (no TOTP seeds in plaintext, lock-gated IPC), then hardened the Windows surface after a full security pass—Hello enrollment, shell verbs, erase flows, the messy stuff that only shows up when you treat the webview as hostile. Packaging for MSIX/APPX taught us the same lesson as crypto: if signing isn’t right, nothing else matters.
If you try it, tell us what breaks. Offline tools only get better when people use them like attackers and like users.

Who hunted Gen Vault?
Gen Vault was hunted by Lalu James. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
