Gaugelet
Use your ChatGPT plan deliberately.
See your ChatGPT and Codex usage allowances at a glance, right from your Mac menu bar.
I recently switched from Claude to ChatGPT. With Claude, there are several great tools that make it easy to see your usage and remaining capacity. With ChatGPT, I couldn’t find anything equivalent—so I built Gaugelet for myself.
The problem isn’t simply “maxing out” a plan. It’s losing momentum in the middle of meaningful work: not knowing when you may hit a limit, having to pause, or moving a complex task to a smaller model when it deserves your best one.
Gaugelet is a lightweight menu-bar gauge that keeps that information visible, so you can plan your work with fewer surprises. It began as a personal need, but I suspect many ChatGPT users run into the same issue—so I’m making it available to everyone.
I’d love your feedback, feature requests, and honest criticism.

Who hunted Gaugelet?
Gaugelet was hunted by Diego. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
