FridgeChef
Tell it what's in your fridge.Get a Chinese recipe in second
FridgeChef uses AI to suggest Chinese recipes based on ingredients already in your fridge. Browse 70+ home-style Chinese recipes with step-by-step instructions.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋 Builder here.
I started FridgeChef because I kept wasting ingredients — had half a
cabbage, some eggs, leftover pork, and no idea what to make. Every
recipe app made me search by dish name, which defeats the purpose when
you're starting from what's already in your fridge.
The core insight: Chinese home cooking is extremely flexible with
ingredient substitution. You can almost always swap proteins, skip a
vegetable, or work with what you have. The AI layer is built around
that flexibility.
What I built:
- 70+ hand-curated authentic Chinese home recipes (not westernized versions)
- Ingredient-first matching: pick what you have, get a dish you can make now
- AI generation for custom combinations that don't match the library
- Dietary filters: vegetarian, no pork, no seafood, low sodium
- Bilingual EN/ZH support
One question for the PH community: what's the one ingredient sitting
in your fridge right now that you never know what to do with? I'll
tell you a Chinese recipe for it. 🥢
