FREED Tracker

Turn your iPhone into a FreeD motion tracker

FREED Tracker replaces external motion-tracking hardware with an iPhone or iPad. Stream real-time X/Y/Z position and yaw, pitch and roll over UDP in the industry-standard FreeD format at up to 60 FPS. Connect directly to Unreal Engine, Unity or any FreeD-compatible receiver. Includes ARKit tracking, LiDAR support, zeroing, offsets, smoothing, axis presets and remapping, per-axis output, diagnostics, test mode and project files. Tracking stays on your device and local network.

Top comment

I built FREED Tracker to make camera tracking more accessible for virtual production teams, studios and independent creators. A phone already contains capable motion sensors and ARKit tracking, but using that data in a FreeD workflow usually requires custom software or dedicated hardware. FREED Tracker turns an iPhone or iPad into a practical network tracking source with the controls operators need: zeroing, smoothing, axis mapping, diagnostics and reusable projects. I would especially value feedback from Unreal Engine operators and virtual production crews using it on real shoots.
