FreeCV

Free resume and CV builder. No signup, no paywall.

Most free resume builders let you do all the work, then ask for a credit card the moment you hit download. FreeCV doesn't. You build your CV, download the PDF, and start applying. No signup, no paywall, no catch. Inside you get AI that rewrites weak bullet points and drafts your summary, an AI headshot that turns a selfie into a clean professional photo, an ATS check that gets you past the screening bots, 20+ templates, a shareable portfolio link, and 6 languages. The core is free, for real.

Hey everyone, Abd here. I built FreeCV. Quick story on why it exists. Every time I needed a resume I would try one of those free builders, spend half an hour typing everything in, then hit download and get asked for my credit card. Free right up until the second you actually need the file. It drove me a little nuts, mostly because the people who need a resume the most are usually the ones with the least money to spare. So I built the opposite. You fill in your CV, you download the PDF, you leave. No account, no trial, no card sitting there waiting to charge you later. Then it kept turning into stuff I did not expect to build. The AI tidies up your bullet points, writes your summary, and even drafts a cover letter, so you are not stuck staring at a blank box trying to sound impressive. There is a free AI headshot too. You upload a normal selfie and get back a clean photo you can put on your CV and your LinkedIn, no photographer and no fee. The part I am proudest of is what happens after you finish. Every CV gets its own livelink.cv page, a live link you share instead of emailing a PDF that is out of date the second you send it. And behind that link your CV is also published as cv.json, an open, machine readable version of your resume. Plain text was made for people and PDFs were made for printers, but in 2026 half the things reading your CV are machines, so I made it readable by them too, as an open format anyone can use. It is still early and I am building it out, but I really think this is where resumes are heading. There is also an ATS check so your CV does not get quietly tossed by the screening software before a person ever sees it, the whole thing works in 6 languages, and there is an Android app if you want it in your pocket. It is not finished and I am fixing little things every week, so please be blunt with me. Tell me what is good and what is annoying, and if something is missing just say it right here. I will read every comment. Thanks for taking a look.

Who hunted FreeCV?

FreeCV was hunted by Abd Shanti. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
