Hi Product Hunt 👋
I built freemeditationtimer.org over the last few weeks after getting frustrated with every meditation app I tried. They all started free, then pushed paywalls. Some interrupted my sessions to upsell me. One literally made me close a popup before I could start a 5-minute session.
I just wanted a timer that runs quietly and gets out of the way.
So I built one:
- 6 Tibetan bells (CC0 from Freesound)
- Customizable intervals and warm-up
- Optional binaural beats via Web Audio API
- Works offline, no signup, no analytics
- All your settings stay in your browser, nothing ever leaves your device
The whole site is a static Next.js export hosted free on Cloudflare Pages. No backend, no database, no logging.
I'm not planning to monetize this. No premium tier, no ads, no upsells. If it helps people meditate without being pestered, that's enough.
Would love your honest feedback, especially on:
- The Tibetan bells (are 6 enough?)
- The "Zen Sage" design palette
- Whether the binaural beats actually feel different from background music
