Hi Product Hunt, I'm Aurelio, and I build Frame Witness on my own. Most recovery tools hand you a list of files that came back. That is fine until someone asks the next question: where exactly did this come from, what did the scan actually read, and what is still unknown? That is the question Frame Witness is built around. What it does: - Recovers deleted photos and videos from physical disks and acquired images on Windows. - Shows every finding next to its source offsets, SHA-256 hash and each date with its recorded source (filesystem creation, embedded container time, Recycle Bin record). If a date is missing, it stays unknown instead of being guessed. - Rebuilds fragmented MP4, MOV, 3GP, AVI, MKV and WebM clips from their own index and verifies them by decoding, so a thumbnail is never mistaken for a complete original. - Writes a coverage report: what was read, what was searched, which regions failed. - Runs everything locally, with scanner and decoder workers in Windows AppContainer isolation. Nothing is uploaded. What it does not do, so there are no surprises: it cannot read bytes that have been overwritten, trimmed or encrypted; phones are outside the current scope; and no recovery rate is promised. Version 1.0.8 is a signed release, but independent review and field trials are still ahead before anyone should rely on it institutionally. Please test it on your own representative cases first. A free account runs a quick scan of the first 8 GB with previews. Launch pricing is on until October 17. I'd love to hear which reporting detail you find hardest to preserve when reviewing recovered video. Thanks for taking a look.
