FoundName
Find a great app name that's actually still free
Describe your app idea and get creative, brandable name ideas. Each name is checked live on the App Store, Google Play and domains (.com,io,app and more), with a sound score, so you only fall for names you can actually use. Then sketch your first logo, colors and brand brief on a canvas. Free to try, no signup needed.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
Naming my own apps has always been two problems in one. First, coming up with a name that's creative and actually fits the idea. Then finding out the .com is taken, the App Store already has three apps with that name and Google Play has two more.
So I built FoundName to help with both. You describe your idea and pick a style, it suggests brandable names, and every name is checked live against the App Store, Google Play and domains before you get attached to it. Each name also gets a sound score, so you can tell at a glance how well it rolls off the tongue.
The cherry on top: once you have your finalists, there's a canvas to sketch the first logo, a color palette and a brand brief, so you leave with more than just a word.
The generator and the checks are free, no account needed. Pro is a one-time payment (no subscription) for more projects, team voting by link, the canvas editor, exports, AI logos and a REST/MCP API.
I'd love to hear which checks or markets you'd want next!

Who hunted FoundName?
FoundName was hunted by Silvio Lindstedt. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
