Forklift: Nutrition Tracker
An unmonetized nutrition tracker with a complete feature set
Forklift was developed in order to have a nutrition tracker available that is free, open source, and has every feature that a person tracking their calories needs without any bloat. Forklift is designed for speed and simplicity and was built out of love for the fitness community.
Why does every calorie tracker on your phone feel so heavy?
Because they have to make money. And once an app needs to monetize, the core feature is no longer the point, it's the hook. You get social feeds, gamification streaks, coaching upsells, premium meal plans, meal-scanning "AI" behind a paywall, recipe marketplaces, and endless nudges to convert you into a paying subscriber.
The actual job, logging your food, gets buried under a business model.
With Forklift I'm trying to prove a point. With the recent advances in AI assisted coding, we can afford to put out unmontizaed excellent quality applications that work far better than their paid counterparts.
