Hi Product Hunt community! 👋 I built Forage to solve a simple but frustrating problem: throwing away random ingredients from the fridge just because I didn't know what to cook with them. Instead of relying on third-party recipe APIs that have strict daily rate limits or costs, I wanted something fully self-hosted. Forage runs entirely against our own Postgres database, which has been rigorously filtered and seeded with 899 highly polished, high-quality recipes (complete with images and real nutrition data), ensuring a clean and reliable user experience. Key features I'm excited about: - Smart Fridge Inventory: Supports natural language parsing (type a list, it handles units). - Intelligent "I Cooked This" flow that deducts items from your fridge. - Full ecosystem including a weekly meal planner, saved recipes, and nutrition history. It's completely free and live right now. Since I'm aiming for my first 100 users, I would absolutely love to hear your honest feedback, feature ideas, or any bugs you find! Thanks for checking it out! 🌿

Who hunted forage?
forage was hunted by Parsa. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
