footage.repair

Recover interrupted camera footage — no upload needed

Battery died mid-take or the card got pulled? The footage is still there — it just never got the index that tells a player where the frames are. footage.repair rebuilds that index entirely in your browser and hands back a normal, playable file. Nothing uploads, ever — a 100GB file would take longer to upload than it took to film. Free preview first, so you know it worked before paying. Supports Sony XAVC-S/XAVC-HS, Panasonicmdt, and DJI Osmo Action.

Hey — made this after a friend who shoots weddings called me in a panic because her camera's battery died mid-ceremony and the file wouldn't open in anything. The footage was all still on the card, byte for byte, but every recovery tool she found wanted her to upload a 90GB file somewhere first — which, for a stranger's wedding footage, felt like the wrong answer even before you get to how long that upload would take. So I spent a while reverse-engineering the actual container format these cameras write, and built something that does the reconstruction in the browser instead. Happy to answer anything about how it works or what it doesn't handle yet — still actively adding camera formats.
