FocusTube

Block short-form distractions, not useful websites

FocusTube is a lightweight browser extension that hides short-form and social feed distractions across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Unlike full website blockers, it lets you keep useful content while removing the parts that trigger doomscrolling. No account, no tracking, local settings, and available across Chrome, Edge, and Firefox.

Top comment

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I built FocusTube because I kept opening platforms like YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn for something useful, then getting pulled into Shorts, Reels, feeds, and endless scrolling. FocusTube is meant to be a lighter alternative to full website blockers. Instead of blocking entire sites, it hides the distracting parts so you can still use the useful content intentionally. It works across Chrome, Edge, and Firefox, with no account, no tracking, and local settings. I’d really appreciate feedback on: * which platforms/features you’d want supported next * whether the controls feel simple enough * anything that would make it more useful for students or people trying to stay focused
