Hey everyone,
I built Focus Limit because my own tab bar had become a problem I could not ignore anymore. I would often have thirty or forty tabs open at once, half of them forgotten, my laptop struggling to keep up, and my actual focus scattered across all of it. Every existing tool I tried handled only one small piece of that problem. Something would close idle tabs. Something else would collapse them into a list. Another tool would let me save sessions, but nothing tied all of it together.
The idea started small. I just wanted something to stop me from opening an eleventh tab. But the more I used that, the more it felt like punishment rather than help. So the idea grew into something calmer. Instead of simply blocking new tabs, I added a dashboard that shows everything you have open so you can close one with a single click. I added a one time pass for moments when you genuinely need more room, along with snooze options for times when you are doing something that honestly requires several tabs at once. From there it grew further, adding automatic grouping by category, idle tab cleanup, timed focus sessions, saved sessions you can restore later, and even a quieter new tab page. Every piece was built around one idea: help people manage their tabs without making them feel bad about having too many.
It is completely free, with no accounts and no paywalls. If you find it useful, a coffee is always appreciated but never required.
