FlokinMD
Explore your Markdown like a database
FlokinMD is an open-source, local-first desktop app that treats your Markdown files as structured data. Explore collections, frontmatter, relations, graphs, SQL, workspace health, bulk edits, and AI context — while keeping yourmd files as the source of truth.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built FlokinMD because Markdown is becoming much more than documentation.
Today, AI agents use Markdown for prompts, instructions, memory, skills, specs, rules, and project context. As the number of files grows, it becomes harder to understand relationships, find inconsistencies, or safely update things at scale.
There are great tools like Notion and Obsidian, but I wanted to explore a different approach: treat Markdown more like structured data.
The idea was simple: what if there were something like DBeaver or DataGrip, but for Markdown?
So I built FlokinMD over the weekend. It is open source, local-first, built with Rust + Iced, and available for Linux, macOS, and Windows.
Your .md files remain the source of truth. FlokinMD just gives you a new way to explore them through collections, SQL, relations, graphs, workspace health, bulk edits, and AI context.
Markdown is the database. FlokinMD is the interface.
I’d really appreciate feedback, ideas, bug reports, and contributions.
