Hey everyone 👋 I'm Si, founder of FloCanvas.
I spent 20 years designing and making furniture, running my own studio — CAD, prototyping, concept development, bespoke work. Documenting that work for clients was always a headache: the process lived in sketchbooks, CAD files, and photos scattered everywhere, and pulling it together into something a client or a portfolio could actually follow meant rebuilding it from scratch every time.
Two years ago I decided to start a Product Design degree to update my skills, and hit the exact same problem again — just with crits and coursework instead of clients. That's where FloCanvas came from.
FloCanvas puts a Narrative Line through the centre of an infinite canvas. You explore freely around it — sketches, references, iterations, dead ends — and as you go, you drop Page Blocks onto the line. So by the time the project's done, the story of how you got there already exists. You can review it as a sequence, or export it straight to PDF.
It's currently in free public beta on Windows (macOS coming soon), and I'm working with course leads at a few UK universities to get it into real studio practice, not just individual use. Every bit of feedback here genuinely shapes what goes into 1.0.
